The Christian Humanitarian Association Bread of Life was founded in 1992, on the initiative of believers of the Baptist and Protestant Evangelical Church from Belgrade, because of the great need to provide humanitarian aid, to refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia, and then displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija, who sought refuge in Belgrade, from the war that began in 1991 in former Yugoslavia.

Based on experience in humanitarian work, and with the acquired knowledge from the past, Bread of Life today implements a long-term development programs to strengthen the vulnerable groups in society, while remaining sensitive to the humanitarian needs of the poor, sensitive to the needs of the various health and social institutions, as well, as it engages in disaster relief, as it did in the floods of 2014, the arrival of migrants in 2015 and 2016, the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020, etc.
